Particular areas of interest or experience in cardiovascular trial design and delivery

The Swansea Trials Unit (STU) is a UK CRC registered specialist unit.  We offer methodological advice and support to clinical teams, both in designing new projects and applying for grants.  After successful applications we work with trial teams to develop, initiate, conduct, manage, analyse and report supported projects.

Our research portfolio covers CTIMPs, surgical trials, device studies, observational research, qualitative studies, systematic literature reviews, Patient-reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Patient-reported Experience Measures (PREMs).  We work across a range of health disciplines utilising methodologies such as step wedge, cluster, crossover and parallel design.  We can also be involved in the development and validation of PROMs and PREMs.

STU have the infrastructure and expertise necessary to design and deliver research covering primary and secondary care and emergency medicine.  We have experiences ranging from single site early phase trials to large multi-site and international trials.
