In this webinar on Patient and Public Involvement in Research, you will be inspired by Keith Wilson’s story as a Patient Research Ambassador for the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. You will also gain a valuable clinical perspective from Professor Rod Stables, Clinical Lead for the BHF CRC and a consultant cardiologist at the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
Together, our speakers delve into the key role patients and the public play in shaping cardiovascular clinical research, from helping to set research priorities to actively contributing to the design and delivery of studies.
In this webinar, you will gain an introduction to Patient and Public Involvement in research and discover how you can get started on your own involvement journey.
Through an introductory presentation, we demystify the term clinical research and explore what PPI is, why it matters, and how it contributes to every stage of the research cycle—from research prioritisation and concept development to study delivery, dissemination, and implementation. We also showcase the involvement opportunities available through the BHF and the BHF CRC. Afterwards, two Patient Representatives and a community-engaged clinical researcher will share their personal experiences, discuss the value of collaborative working, explain how to get involved, and answer audience questions.
